New problem in the form of LPG Cylinders limitation

We are facing big problem with the introduction of new government policy. Government has limited only 6 cylinders per connection with immediate effect. (Even if it is increased to 9, it wont help us much)

Government has not taken into consideration the need of NGOs. We need 4 cylinders per month.

This month instead of 1600 Rs (400 Rs per cylinder) we payed around 4000 Rs.

It is worrying us a lot how to address this problem. If anybody has contact with the "Woman and Child Development department" please help us.

You are most welcome to visit our Ashrama. Our kids will be delighted to have you. Your time is the greatest gift you can give to our kids.

We value whatever you bring. You are very kind to us.

But keeping in mind the health of our kids, and also not to waste even a small thing, we request you to kindly go through the following before you come to Ashrama.

Food Items NOT TO bring:

* Please don't bring cakes, chocolates, biscuits, sweets, chips, mixture or any fast food / chat items.

* Please don't bring any oily items & pickles.

Things you can bring:

* Dry Fruits

* Vegetables

* Fruits

* Egg

* Soaps/Detergents, Washing powder

* Toiletry items

* Masala items like Tamarind, Dry chillies

* Ghee

* Best thing is to call up Ashrama (080-65591286 or 9343087812) or Anjan (98452 93039) and get to know the needy things you can bring.

If you want to celebrate birthday of your kid or family member:

* You can sponsor lunch / dinner (costs Rs 2000). You can just call us and inform the date and time

* If your kid insists on cake, you can bring small cake (half kg) and cut it

Land Registered !!!

29th Sep 2012 is a BIG DAY for us.

We are very happy today. Our plot to construct the children's home got registered.
We thank all our donors who donated kind heartedly to purchase the land.

We registered the land for Rs 3,67,500 (According to government value), though we purchased at Rs 7,00,000 to reduce the registration cost.

Moving on with our next plan

Dear Patrons.

Thanks for all your contributions. We could achieve the target of 3.6 Lakhs within 12 days. Our first donor was Sumanth N.S, my friend working at GE, Bengaluru.

I didn't thought that I will write this post so soon. I am on clouds...

Our kids are really blessed. First thing in the morning, I will give them this good news. They are dreaming of their new home already.

So coming to next plan.

We will register the land once we get all the money from donors (many have pledged). I think this should happen maximum by October end.

After that we will start planning for the "Chidren't Sweet Home". So all your donations will be going towards that. We hope we will be able to build a great home with all your support.

Truly Incredible - Thank you - Cultural Care Kids Foundation

I dont have words to express myself. Incredible, Unbelievable.

Within 12 days of our request to raise the fund for 3.6 Lakhs for buying land for our Orphanage, WE ACHIVED THE TARGET.

Yes, we achieved the target.

With our volunteer Sanjay, we approached "Cultural Care Kids Foundation" http://www.culturalcarekidsfirst.org/ on Monday.

Today I got message from Susan Robinson, VP at "Cultural Care Kids Foundation".

"Anjan, I understand you spoke with my colleague Sanjay about Cultural Care Kids First Foundation. We would love to support this project. Please contact me. Thank you so much for all you are doing for the children of Jeevitha! "

In a small world

Do you really need your own money to do good things? Absolutely not. You need to convey and convince people about the good deeds. Rest will follow.

I approached my cousin Vijendra Kuroodi who is in US about our Ashrama. He is gem of a person. He got things clarified, understood our plan and told me hold back, will approach all his friends. Then we got Satya Dixit, friend of Vejendra (I call him Vijayanna) on board.

Satya Dixit is so concerned and appreciated our efforts. He and his wife Maxine Dixit contacted their friend circle and could raise 2500 USD. Yes its a big money for us. It will be around 1,37,000 Rs. Then he called me over the phone to understand about our plan deeper. Then we came to know that he also hails from Davanagere, where I also studied. My classmate Shree Lakshmi is his relative. Wow, what a small world.

Thats not the end. Satya is telling if we could get 501(c) approved, Microsoft will match the contribution. WOW. Can we have a nicer twist than this? We were in the process of registering our organization with CAFAmerica. This is going on from last 6 months. And we are almost nearing the final stage. If we are fortunate enough, we may get registered soon there. Then the donations to our Ashrama will get 501(c).

An Appeal

Dear Patrons, with all your blessings we are trying to possess our own land in the Panchayathi limit of Maragondanahalli village, T.C. Palya Road, Ramamurthy Nagara, Bengaluru. (Site no. 54, Survey no. 4)

The plot is 35ft x 30ft, north facing. We could have not take this hard decision without the support of Alcatel-Lucent employees, Bengaluru. They have contributed 3.9 Lakhs on 25th Aug 2012. Actual cost of the land is 7.9 Lakhs. We have got it for 7 Lakhs. With registration cost of Rs 50,000 total cost is coming to Rs 7.5 Lakhs. This is the only plot available for such less price.

With 3.9 Laksh in our hand we are looking for your support for the remaining 3.6 Lakhs. From all of our trustees, members and kids we appeal you to please support us with whatever amount you can. We are given 2 months of time. But landlord has agreed to do prior registration (in next week) with post dated cheque.

Our kids can live in peace and we assure you we will do our best to these kids.

It was a great day at Alcatel-Lucent, Bengaluru. Alcatel-Lucent is inviting us from past 2 years to their "WE CARE" event - a CSR program. We are so blessed to select us as their beneficiaries 3rd time in a row.

In 2010 they donated 2.10 Lakhs. 2011, 2.54 Lakshs.

And this time, when we were planning to buy a plot to have our own 'children home', to our much surprised they donated 3.9 Lakhs. And what surprises more is this is employees contribution.

Can we ask for more?

Our kids were looking for this day from past 2 months. They plan the event with so much love & concern. Painting, sports events, yummy lunch, cotton candy, popcorn and cultural events.

Our kids thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. Thank you very much Alcatel-Lucent. We strive hard to make our kids good and responsible citizens.
